Esports Events to Watch This Week (December 7 – 13)

As the end of 2020 approaches, we have yet another action-packed week in the world of esports. The PUBG Mobile Global Champions is wrapping up the league portion of the event this week with the 3rd straight week of  4 in this portion of the competition. For CSGO fans, they can tune into both the BLAST Premier Fall Finals and the final DreamHack Open of 2020. Fighting game fans have yet another week of the Street Fighter League to look forward to and for fans of Rocket League, a North American regional taking place is just what they need for their weekly esports fill. There is a lot to discuss so let’s dive right in!

PUBG Mobile Global Championship

Highlight Match: Opening Match
Tuesday December 8th - 6 AM EST / 3 AM PST

This week marks the third week of four in the league portion of this global championship. Following this will be the third and final day of the first super weekend and teams will want to ensure they are in their best form for the elimination matches to come. This event is the pinnacle of what is possible through mobile gaming in both talent and production and is sure to be one of the biggest mobile esports events of the entire year. For any fans of PUBG, mobile gaming, or Battle Royales more generally this is an event that is well worth tuning into.

BLAST Premier Fall Finals

Highlight Match: Grand Finals
Sunday December 13th - 2:30 PM EST / 11:30 PM PST

After an incredible fall season, the BLAST Premier Series is closing things up with the Fall Finals. The final eight teams competing this week will be battling for the majority share of $425,000 and the title of the Fall Finals. This week will represent the absolute pinnacle of CSGO and the victor will be able to claim with certainty that they were one of, if not the, best team in the world at the end of 2020. For any fan of CSGO or FPS esports, this is a week of competition you won’t want to miss. If you can only tune in for a single day of the competition make sure it’s Sunday where both the Lower Bracket Finals and Grand Finals are taking place.

Street Fighter League Season 3 Week 9

Highlight Match: Opening Match
Thursday December 10th - 7 PM EST / 3 PM PST

With most fighting game tournaments being moved to online or cancelled entirely events like this Street Figher League are a great way for FGC fans to stay engaged with their favorite esport. As the oldest and one of the most popular esports of all time, Street Fighter has found an entirely new format with this team-based competition through this official Capcom league. For any esport fan looking for something to do this Thursday evening, this is an event well worth tuning into as FGC matches are some of the most exciting in any esport.

RLCS Season X - Winter: North America Regional

Highlight Match: Opening Match
Thursday December 10th - 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST

Rocket League fans won’t be without competition this week featuring EU competition in the form of The Grid and the North American Regional that is one of our events of the week. This event is a full elimination bracket over the course of three days which makes for a much more exciting format than the traditional league-based regular season. Watch all of your favorite teams in North America go head to head and determine which team will be able to say they were the best in the region as 2020 comes to a close.

DreamHack Open December

Highlight Match: Grand Finals
Sunday December 13th - 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST

If the BLAST Fall Finals isn’t enough CSGO action for you there is no need to worry as there is also a DreamHack Open taking place this week. This event will feature some of the best up and coming European teams and likely includes multiple players that will one day be on some of the best teams in the world. The grand finals are situated perfectly between the lower bracket and grand finals the of the BLAST Fall Finals making it easy for you to spend your entire Sunday watching some incredibly high level and exciting CSGO.
