This week in esports the League of Legends World Championship officially crowns the best team in 2020. The Smite Pro League enters its final week of the regular season. Group stages heat up at both ESL One Germany and the BLAST Premier Fall regular season. Last but certainly not least, GFUEL Energy Games presents their Dead by Daylight Finals. There is lots to dive into this week so let’s get right to it!
Release Date: DAMWON vs SuningSaturday October 31st - 6AM EST / 3AM PST
After an incredible tournament the two best teams will finally meet in the finals. DAMWON is the first Korean team to make the finals of a World Tournament since 2017 and is hoping to bring in a new era of LCK dominance after dominating their region all year. Across from them will be Suning, the 3rd seed from China’s LPL who beat both the second and first seeded teams from their own region to reach the tournament finals. Nobody expected them to get this far but now that they will have it will be up to them to secure the third World Championship in a row for China. This is sure to be an incredible match well worth the time of any esports fan.
Release Date: Ghost Gaming vs RadianceSaturday October 31st - 3PM EST / 12PM PST
Entering the final week of the regular season the most exciting matchup is between the top-seeded Ghost Gaming and Radiance who currently sit in 4th place. An upset by Radiance in this match would allow SpaceStation gaming to tie Ghost for first place. Meanwhile, Radiance needs the victory to potentially take third and at least secure their 4th place position heading into the playoffs. This is the last weekend of regular-season action so all the games will be especially impactful.
Release Date: Natus Vincere vs Vikin.ggWednesday October 28th - 3PM EST / 12PM PST
The second upper bracket semi-final of the day, this match between Na’Vi and Vikin is sure to be a demonstration of the highest level of DOTA2. Na’Vi narrowly advanced past OG 2-1 in their first match while Vikin made quick work of Alliance sweeping their series. With Alliance proceeding to sweep OG out of the tournament in the lower bracket a strong case can be made that Vikin are the favorite to take this semi-final series. Fortunately for fans, things don’t always go as they should on paper making this a match to tune into in order to see the form of both teams entering the final rounds of the event.

Both Group A and Group B will play their entire portion of the regular season this week making this week you absolutely need to watch. Group A will conclude by Wednesday and Group B will play throughout the latter half of the week. If you want to catch the finals of Group A you can tune in on Wednesday at 3:30PM EST / 12:30PM PST and at the same time on Sunday to catch the final match of Group B. With Group Play only beginning this week it’s impossible to know what teams will be in those matches just yet but with the grueling week of competition in front of them you know that whoever they are, they will be playing their best.

After a month of weekly matches, GFUEL will finally be crowning their Dead by Daylight Energy Games Champion. With $4000 on the line this incredible community event is a prime example of how esports have kept grassroots communities thriving even during the current global pandemic. While Dead by Daylight isn’t thought of as a top esport, it is still incredibly entertaining to watch and this event is an excellent introduction into the scene for anyone that wants to learn more and get more deeply involved in this growing community.
